We are a modern university, teaching and researching agriculture, forestry, economic and technical disciplines in regional and international contexts. The Department of Geology and Pedology operates in terms of its own and supporting scientific disciplines. The wide range of its professional focus results primarily in the applied concept of science in the fields of geology, pedology and archaeology, with overlap into supporting and derived disciplines such as biology, biochemistry, micromorphology, hydrogeology and hydropedology, etc. The team seeks to interpret these disciplines in an environmental context with implications for forestry, landscape and arboriculture.

Participation in the project "Tools to support the delivery of tree ecosystem services and increase the resilience of existing plantations", project code SS07020299.

What will be your job role?

  • measurement of soil and water regime parameters, data preparation and processing
  • installation of soil properties sensors and their operation, maintenance, export and processing for analysis
  • soil sampling
  • independent solving assigned research tasks in the project
  • preparation and implementation of field and laboratory work
  • processing and editing of data obtained
  • active participation in the preparation of annual periodic reports and final report

What are our requirements?

  • completed bachelor's degree in the required field (e.g. arboriculture, forestry, agriculture, pedology, geography, etc.)
  • active knowledge of the Czech language
  • active knowledge of English
  • ability to publish results in both Czech and English
  • interest in scientific research work at the university
  • ability to work independently and in a team
  • ability to communicate effectively

Required research experience:

  • experience in solving scientific research tasks in the scientific field

Job status: 0,2 (8 hours per week)
