We are looking for a lab assistant who will be funded by a 3-year Standard GAČR grant (2024-2026).

We study the evolution of termites, termitophilous beetles, and their gut microbes(

The lab assistant will be responsible for:
• DNA and RNA isolation, optimization of methods using robotization
• preparation of next-generation sequencing libraries (Illumina whole genome shotgun and Hi-C libraries, Nanopore libraries, and more)
• coordination of sequencing projects with all team members and with sequencing companies


• min. Bachelor degree
• starting 50% work commitment
• previous lab experience with DNA or RNA
• responsibility, reliability, eagerness to learn new things and work with other group members towards a common goal
• very good spoken communication ability in English
• experience with the preparation of next-generation sequencing libraries is an advantage but not a requirement
