Postdoctoral researcher for microscopic nanomaterial studies

The Department of Physics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, invites applications for postdoctoral researcher for microscopic nanomaterial studies. The position is for developing and using methodology for characterization and microscopic correlation of mechanical, structural, and chemical properties of 2D and molecular materials. Taking care and further development of experimental equipment is also part of the duties. We expect in particular active approach, independent work on research problems, preparation of presentations and scientific papers, and communication with other team members. The position is part of the OPVVV Excellence project “Center for Advanced Applied Sciences” in the MATE research program.   Job requirements: Successful candidates must hold PhD degree (or equivalent) in Physics or Material Sciences. Previous experience with microscopic studies of various properties of materials or nanomaterials, at least 5 publications in recognized scientific journals (and at least 2 as the first author) as well as good knowledge of English (both written and oral) are required. Valid Czech residence permit or EU nationality is advantageous. Contract details:   The salary is competitive, based on quality and experience of the candidate. The position is initially for 2 years and can be prolonged depending on performance.
