We offer a full-time position for those who would like to pursue a PhD degree in Environment Health Sciences or Organic or Physical Organic Chemistry in the research of
  • Red and Near Infra-red Fluorescent Dyes for Fluorescent Imaging Guided Surgery and Diagnostic Tools.
The candidate will perform synthesis and characterization of organic small molecular fluorophores alone and in larger covalent constructs and will study their properties. Assessment of structure-properties relationships will allow to rationally design such dyes and apply in vitro and in vivo in models of various complexity. Highly motivated and skillful candidates will have the opportunity to considerably extend their graduate training in chemistry by learning advanced spectroscopic methods, photochemistry, bioconjugations and will also often communicate with biologists.
