Ph.D. position in Chemical exposomics for human biomonitoring   Lab Group details The Chemical Exposomics lab focused on profiling of chemical exposures and their association to population health is a research group newly established within the Environmental Chemistry and Modelling research program of the RECETOX Centre co-ordinated by Prof Jana Klánová. The group led by Dr Elliott J Price is developing analytical workflows for exposure and effect biomarker discovery and routine biomonitoring screens. Chemical Exposomics research is inherently interdisciplinary & the group benefits from access to state-of-the-art core facilities within RECETOX (https://www.recetox.muni.cz/en/services) and CEITEC (https://www.ceitec.eu/core-facilities/) & infrastructures across Masaryk University (https://www.muni.cz/en/research/large-research-infrastructure-projects).   Topic: Machine learning to improve mass-spectrometry chemical data processing The PhD candidate will develop new resources for the processing of high-resolution mass spectrometry chemical profiling data. Initially, existing metabolomics data processing tools will be implemented in the user-friendly Galaxy environment. Subsequent developments will focus on the application of machine learning to enhance the tools suitability for chemical exposures data. Required expertise: Computer programming, machine learning methods   Candidate profile Candidate shall possess a Master’s degree within the field of informatics & must be eager to learn knowledge of biochemistry and systems biology.
