Postdoctoral position in high-energy astroparticle physics

The Department of Astroparticle Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences invites applications for a postdoctoral position in high-energy astroparticle physics within the Pierre Auger collaboration.

About the Institute:

The Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (FZU) is a public research institution, focusing on basic and applied research in physics. About the department:

The Department is part of the Division of elementary particle physics and presently numbers about 25 physicists, students and support staff. Our team is involved in various research areas including the testing and development of hardware, or the analyzes of the current and next-generation cosmic-ray experimental data, namely the cosmic ray composition and characterization of hadronic interactions at energies above the LHC.

Job description:

We invite applications for a postdoctoral position in the field of experimental Astroparticle Physics. The appointment is for 1 year minimum (+ 1 year extension expected). The selected candidate will work within the department of Astroparticle Physics, Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague.

The vacancy is expected to be filled by the beginning of January 2022.

Required qualifications:

A successful candidate should posses a PhD. in physics with a thesis in a related field of research, good knowledge of C++ and Python and a hardware experience.

The candidate should be in the condition of international mobility and should have a maximum of 7 years of experience after her/his PhD at the starting date of the contract.
