Academic Position at the Department of Applied and Landscape Ecology, Faculty of AgriSciences
Research Area: landscape and spatial planning and environmental protection
The department was established in 1990 in response to the societal need for a comprehensive understanding of agriculturally utilized landscapes in the framework of sustainable development. The members of the department guarantee both Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in Agroecology. The research priorities of the department include examining landscapes in various contexts, landscape engineering, and environmental safety. The department conducts a wide range of experimental activities both in the field and in laboratories, and operates a water management and pedological laboratory including a hydraulic circuit.

What will your job responsibilities be?
- leading lectures, practical exercises, and excursions in the fields of applied and landscape ecology, primarily
- focusing on landscape and spatial planning and environmental protection
- developing educational and research activities in applied and landscape ecology
- actively participating in solving research projects and grants
- participating in educational activities
- participating in the organizational support of research or educational activities
- publishing results in professional and scientific journals and presenting papers at conferences and seminars
- engaging in activities related to the university's third mission
What do we expect from you?
- higher education with a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in the field of applied and landscape ecology
- experience in engaging in research projects and grants
- publication activity supported by outputs
- experience in leading lectures and exercises in subjects related to landscape and spatial planning and
- environmental protection
- excellent knowledge of Czech and English, ability to publish in English
- proficiency in computer skills (MS Office, searching in professional databases)
- valid driver's license B category (active driver)
- proactive and responsible approach to work, diligence, and reliability
- ability to work independently as well as in a team
- organizational skills
What research experience do we require?
- experience working on projects related to applied and landscape ecology
- experience publishing research results in reputable journals related to the field
- experience presenting research results in both Czech and English at national and international conferences
What additional skills will be valued?
- knowledge of ArcGIS programs and/or programs used for data processing and analysis
- experience preparing certified methodologies
- experience in teaching and leading seminars or practical exercises
- ability to communicate effectively
- critical thinking skills
