  • Development of diamond-based electronic and semiconductor devices, which represents the primary focus of the position
  • Contribute to the longer-term exploration of diamond for quantum technologies
  • Synthesis of doped epitaxial diamond by plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition
  • Structural, optical and electrical chqrqcterization
  • Write or contribute to research project proposal, develop new research directions

What we expect

  • A PhD or equivalent research experience in materials science, solid-state physics, semiconductor physics, electrical/electronic engineering, applied physics, or a closely related discipline.
  • A good understanding of thin-film deposition processes, including CVD and/or PVD techniques, together with hands-on experience in standard microfabrication techniques.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor materials and device concepts, with practical experience in the fabrication and/or characterization of semiconductor or electronic devices.
  • Experience with materials characterization techniques relevant to thin films and semiconductor materials.
  • Experience with electrical characterization of semiconductor materials or devices.
